Mesh Size
Definition
Mesh size describes the particle size distribution of a powdered or granulated product, based on the size of the sieve openings a product passes through, expressed as a mesh number.
Why It Matters
Buyers of powdered spices, such as chilli powder or turmeric powder, often specify a required mesh size range for their processing or packaging needs.
Example
A buyer may specify '80 mesh' turmeric powder for a particular downstream blending application.
